Serious side effects

Signs that there is too much calcium in your blood or urine, such as needing to pee more often, feeling thirsty, loss of appetite, dry mouth or a metallic taste in the mouth, weakness or pain in your muscles or bones, headaches, stomach pain, feeling sick, or constipation

 
Warnings
Dovonex ointment is an emollient and therefore can cause a fire hazard when it dries on fabrics, including bedding, clothing, and bandages. Take care to stay away from naked flames and heat sources while using this product, as you may be at risk of severe or even fatal burns.
Do not use this ointment on your face. Dovonex ointment is not suitable for those who:

Are allergic to calcipotriol or any of the other ingredients listed in this product
Have high or low levels of calcium in their body, otherwise known as calcium metabolism disorders
Have severe liver problems
Have severe kidney problems

 
Age restrictions
Dovonex ointment is unsuitable for children under the age of 6. If your child has psoriasis and needs treatment, you should ask your GP or healthcare team for their advice.
 
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this treatment. If they agree that Dovonex ointment is the right medication for you while you are breastfeeding, then you should take care not to apply this product to your breast area.
