Benylin Children’s Dry Cough & Sore Throat Syrup 1+ Year is designed to relieve your child’s dry, tickly cough and sore throat.
 
How Benylin Children’s Dry Cough & Sore Throat Syrup 1+ Year works
Benylin Children’s Dry Cough & Sore Throat Syrup 1+ Year contains glycerol.
Glycerol coats the throat and acts as a demulcent (relieves inflammation and irritation) to soothe the passage of the upper respiratory tract.
 
Directions
Always take Benylin Children’s Dry Cough & Sore Throat Syrup 1+ Year exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. 
Children aged between 1-5 years old: 1 x 5ml to be given 3-4 times daily.
Children over 5 years old: 2 x 5ml to be given 3-4 times daily.
 
Side effects
Like all medicines, Benylin Children’s Dry Cough & Sore Throat 1+ Syrup may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. This medicine is unlikely to cause side effects unless your child is allergic to it.
If your child experiences any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
 
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
 
Warnings
Benylin Children’s Dry Cough & Sore Throat Syrup may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not give this product to your child if they are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before giving your child this medicine if they have an intolerance to certain sugars. 
 
Using/taking other medicines
If your child is taking or has recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before giving them this product.
 
Age restrictions 
This product is not suitable for children under 12 months old.
 
Storage information
Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
