Nurofen Meltlets Lemon 200mg Self-Dissolving Tablets are a quick and easy way to relieve pain when needed most.
Nurofen Meltlets are effective at relieving pain caused by headaches and migraines.
 
How Nurofen Meltlets Lemon 200mg Self-Dissolving Tablets work
Nurofen Meltlets contain the active ingredient ibuprofen. Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). 
The tablets provide you with relief by changing the way your body responds to pain. They also help to reduce swelling and a high temperature.
 
Directions
Always take Nurofen Meltlets exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. 
Take 2 tablets to begin with. If necessary, continue taking 1 or 2 tablets every 4 hours. 
Place a tablet on the tongue, allow it to dissolve and then swallow. Do not chew the tablet.
Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.
 
Side effects
Like all medicines, Nurofen Meltlets may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. There are no known reported common side effects of this product.
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
 
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 
If you develop the following serious side effects, stop taking this medicine straight away and seek medical advice immediately:
 

Signs of intestinal bleeding, symptoms include: bright red stools or black tarry stools, vomiting blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds 
Kidney problems, symptoms include: passing less or more urine, cloudy urine or blood in urine and pain in the back and/or swelling in the legs
Signs of aseptic meningitis, symptoms include: neck stiffness, headaches, feeling sick or being sick 
Blood disorder, symptoms include: unexplained or unusual bruising or bleeding, fever, sore throat, muscle ulcers, flu-like symptoms and severe exhaustion 

 
Warnings
Nurofen Meltlets may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
 

You have or have had two or more episodes of a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding
You have experienced worsening of asthma, skin rash, itchy/runny nose or facial swelling when previously taking ibuprofen, aspirin or similar medicines 
You have phenylketonuria 

 
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this medicine if: 
 

You have or have had asthma 
You have kidney, liver, heart or bowel problems 
You have high cholesterol or have previously had a heart attack or stroke
You have a history of gastrointestinal disease e.g. ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease 
You have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
You are a smoker 
You have an infection

 
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, speak to your GP or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medicines:
 

Anti-coagulant medications e.g. aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid, warfarin or ticlopidine
Medicines that reduce high blood pressure e.g. ACE-inhibitors such as captopril, beta blockers such as atenolol medicines, angiotensin-II receptor antagonists such as losartan 
Methotrexate or lithium 
Medicines to stimulate your heart e.g. glycosides 
Medicines to help you pass water (diuretics)
Medicines for the temporary suppression of your immune system e.g. methotrexate, ciclosporin or tacrolimus 
Medicines to treat mania or depression e.g. lithium 
Medicines to terminate a pregnancy e.g. mifepristone 
Medicines for HIV e.g. zidovudine 

 
Age restrictions 
This medicine is unsuitable for children under 12 years old.
 
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not take this medicine if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.  You should not take this medicine during the first 6 months of pregnancy unless you have been advised to do so by a doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine. 
 
Fertility risks
This medicine may impair fertility in women. This is reversible when you stop taking it.
 
Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
